Document Settings let you control the context Jenni uses to help you write, cite, and generate content. This is where you can fine-tune language, source settings, citation style, and more.
What You Can Customize
Language
Choose the language you'd like to write in. This setting affects Jenni’s suggestions—spelling, grammar, and tone will adjust based on your selected language.
Jenni supports multiple languages, including:
English (US & UK)
Español (Spanish)
عربي (Arabic)
Français (French)
Deutsch (German)
简体中文 (Simplified Chinese)

If your preferred language isn’t listed yet, don’t worry—we’re adding more soon. Some may start in beta, so feel free to reach out if you notice any inconsistencies. We’d love your feedback.
Font Style
Jenni offers to different font styles:
Default (Sans-Serif): Modern & Clean
Serif: Formal
Autocomplete Settings
Toggle autocomplete on or off, depending on whether you want Jenni to suggest content as you write.
Document Prompt
Update or rewrite the original prompt you gave Jenni when starting your document. This helps Jenni understand the topic and context of your writing.
Citation Style
Choose from over 1,700 citation styles, including APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, and more.
Change styles in:
Document Settings → Citation Style, or
The dropdown menu at the bottom of your Reference List
Jenni will automatically reformat all citations and references when you switch styles.
Citation Source Settings
Control how Jenni chooses citations for you:
Auto-cite from External Sources → Pulls in sources from Jenni's database of online sources and articles
Auto-cite from Your Library → Pulls from uploaded PDFs in your Jenni Library
You can toggle either on or off depending on how narrow or broad you want your references to be.
Note: If you're using Auto-cite from Library, you can also limit citations to a specific Collections you've created. Helpful when writing papers with focused source sets.
Citation Recency Filter
Use this to limit citations to only sources published after a specific year. Great for ensuring your work includes the most recent and relevant research.
