This guide is for JGive donors who want to link their personal account to their employer (company) to request donation matching.
Before you begin
Make sure you have:
An active JGive account
Your active work email address (corporate email)
Steps
1. Access Your Personal Account Settings
To get started, you need to reach the settings area in your user profile.
Log in to the JGive website and click on your profile icon (the circle in the top right corner).
In the menu that opens, click the "Account Settings" button.
2. Enter Your Work Email
Now we will enter your email address so the system can identify the company you work for and link you to it.
Inside the Account Settings page, click on the "Connected to Employer" tab.
Click on the field labeled "Work Email".
Type in your workplace email address.
Click the purple "Connect" button.
💡 Tip: Make sure you type your exact corporate email address (for example: name@company.com) to prevent errors in identifying your employer.
3. Verify the Connection via Email
The final step is to verify the email address you entered to complete the process.
Go to your work email inbox.
Open the verification email you received from JGive and click the verification link inside it.
Return to the JGive website, open the "Connected to Employer" tab again, and check that your status has changed to the word "Connected".

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my status not show as "Connected"?
A: The status changes to "Connected" only after you click the verification link. Go to your work email inbox, look for the email from JGive (check your spam folder too), and click the link inside it.
Q: Can I enter a private email like Gmail or Yahoo in the Work Email field?
A: No. You must enter your official corporate email address. The system uses this exact address to identify the company you work for and automatically link your account to it.
Q: How do I link my account to my company to get a donation match?
A: Go to "Account Settings" on the JGive website, open the "Connected to Employer" tab, type in your work email, and click "Connect". After that, approve the action through the email sent to your inbox.
Q: Do I need to be connected to an employer to get a tax-deductible receipt (Section 46)?
A: No. Any donor who types a valid ID number during a donation automatically receives a tax receipt that is submitted to the Tax Authority, regardless of an employer connection.
