Managing on-demand reports and system exports

Streamline your financial workflows with our on-demand reporting tools

This guide explains how to generate on-demand reports and exports specifically formatted for seamless integration with your treasury management and accounting platforms.

Available on-demand exports

Export samples can be found in the File Samples section.

Name

Data type

Purpose

Format

Bank statement

Transactions

Get bank transactions representing:

  • Deposits and withdrawals

  • Third-party payments/collections (if applicable)

  • Fees

  • As well as sweeps to/from the brokerage account

Transactions are exported from the pocket’s bank account, as of a user-defined date and in a standard bank statement format.

Note: Bank statements reflect zero opening and closing balances because all debits and credits are immediately swept to/from the brokerage account. The balance of held T-bills is available in the separate Brokerage statement.

XML camt.053

Trade list

Transactions

Get individual buy/sell/maturity trades within a user-defined date range, to consolidate positions and generate accounting entries.

Trades are sorted from the oldest to the newest based on their execution timestamps. Trades can be filtered by trading date, book date, settlement date.

The export is available in 2 versions:

  • A CSV format with a single record for every trade executed.

  • A Kyriba-ready format with 3 separate records for each trade, containing all necessary data for establishing the Security Master and Local Security setup for any new CUSIPs being imported into Kyriba.

CSV,
Kyriba-ready CSV

Brokerage statement

Positions

Get balances representing the total value of held T-bills in the pocket (using end-of-day market prices) and residual cash.

Balances are exported from the pocket’s brokerage account, as of a user-defined date and in a standard bank statement format.

Each pocket reports one opening balance and one closing balance. The report also includes “transaction” records representing the change between the opening and closing balances, categorized as:

  • Additions: new funds deposited into the brokerage account.

  • Subtractions: funds withdrawn from the brokerage account.

  • Securities transfers to another pocket.

  • Securities transfers from another pocket.

  • Gains/Losses from T-bills held in the account.

  • Fees charged and deducted from the brokerage account.

To get a breakdown by CUSIP, see the Position summary.

XML camt.053

Position summary

Positions

Get CUSIP-level holdings by pocket, as of a user-defined date and using end-of-day rates. Including the pocket’s cash position as a separate position row for every pocket.

Data includes the CUSIP code, held quantity, market price and market value, cost basis and resulting unrealized gain/loss. Using the previous day's closing market prices for the specified date.

This report may also be used to reconcile the security quantity presented in this report against the quantity derived from separately imported buy/sell trades.

CSV, PDF

Security prices

Market Data

Get end-of-day security prices within a user-defined date range, for the revaluation of holdings in another system, consolidated position monitoring, and the generation of accounting entries.

Target system-specific reporting recommendations

Jiko's data is typically integrated either into Cash Management products exclusively or into a combination of Cash Management and Financial Transactions products, as detailed in the table below.

#

Downstream system

Recommended reporting

1

Cash Management

Cash management systems can usually not import T-bill trades and can only import bank transactions and account balances.

Recommended Jiko reporting:

  • Bank statement: to get bank transactions (deposits, withdrawals, 3rd party payments…) for each Jiko pocket.

  • Brokerage statement: to get the balance of each Jiko pocket (one pocket / one opening balance / one closing balance / a set of transactions representing additions/subtractions to the brokerage account, as well as unrealized gain/loss and fees).

Where different accounts are created in the Cash Management product to represent the bank and brokerage accounts within each pocket:

  • Bank account: to import bank transactions and zero balances

  • Brokerage account: to import balances

2

Financial Transactions & Accounting

Such downstream systems usually import T-bill trades to consolidate trades across all asset classes, derive the corresponding positions and generate accounting entries.

Recommended Jiko reporting:

  • Trade list: to get individual buy/sell trades (and maturity events if needed)

  • Security prices: to get end-of-day T-bill prices if needed (unless downstream systems already have their market data feed for securities)

Optional:

  • Position summary: to get CUSIP-level positions/quantity for each pocket, to reconcile them in the downstream product against the quantity derived from the import of T-bill buy/sell trades.

3

Reporting

Reporting tools such as spreadsheets or data lakes will report on holdings by pocket and CUSIP.

Recommended Jiko reporting:

  • Position summary: to get CUSIP-level positions for each pocket (quantity, market price, market value, cost basis, unrealized gain/loss).

Options for report distribution

Reports can be distributed via the following methods:

  • User Interface (UI)

  • API

  • FTP (sFTP)

User Interface (UI)

Select menu “Reports” in the main menu. Tap on “Create report” to launch a new report.

Select which report to launch in field “Report type”. The filters available for the report are determined by the selected "Report type".

To see a list of all reports you have run and check their status, click "Back."

Newly launched reports appear as "Pending" in the list. The view auto-refreshes every 5 seconds, though you can also refresh your browser manually to update the status.

Once the report status changes to 'Available', click the link in the Download column to save your file.

API

The process for generating and retrieving each report via API involves a sequence of calls: one to launch the report, another call to check its completion status, and a final call to download the completed report. The table below details the API endpoint sequence:

Step

Purpose

Jiko API Endpoints

1

Launch a new report, selecting:

  • A report “type”, such as “BANK_STATEMENT_REPORT", “BROKERAGE_STATEMENT_REPORT", “TRADE_REPORT”... (see the API documentation to view all report types).

  • A report request id, used to fetch the report generation status.

  • Parameters specific to the selected report type ( (reporting date, pocket selection…) detailed in the API documentation.

POST/api/v1/report-requests/

2

Get the report request generation “status” for the report id passed in the previous step.

The report is ready when “status” = “AVAILABLE”.

GET/api/v1/report-requests/{report_request_id}/

3

When the status is “AVAILABLE”, get the report content through the “download_url".

POST/api/v1/report/{report_id}/download/

Note: the OAuth Client must authorize the following scopes:

FTP

Jiko offers the capability to schedule reports for automatic execution and secure transmission via FTP. The process is detailed as follows:

Scheduling

The Jiko customer must first contact Jiko's Operations team to specify the required reports and the desired execution schedule.

Credentials

Jiko will operate as the "FTP client," connecting to an "FTP server" exposed by the Jiko customer. The customer will provide FTP credentials to Jiko.

Key-based authentication

For enhanced security, authentication can utilize an SSH key. In this case, Jiko will provide its public key to the Jiko customer.

Key-based encryption

Jiko can encrypt export files using the customer’s public encryption key. In this case, the customer will provide its public key to Jiko.

File naming convention

Generated report files follow Jiko’s standard file naming convention, which indicates the report type, the customer Id, the report as of date, and the generation timestamp: see document Jiko - Customer Enablement - Export File Naming Convention.

See file export samples below. To properly view the column headers and values in CSV export files, paste the data into a spreadsheet and then use the spreadsheet's "text to column" feature.
