Please note that BNGx is a separate company to Joe's Blooms.

Step One: Go to BNGx

To start using off-site units, simply start by going to the Off-site Units tab of the BNG Solution Finder. Press Find Off-Site Units then press Register or login with BNGx

You should make sure that you are confident that there are no further gains that can be secured on your site before you head to BNGx. Their tools are designed to help you source off-site units, but aren't designed for iteration.

You will be taken to BNGx, a separate company and website.

Step Two: Login or create a free account

When you get to the BNGx webpage, simply create an account. It's free and should only take a minute!

Step Three: Click "+ Upload your development"

Step Four: Check your email for a metric file from Joe's Blooms

While you have been creating your BNGx account, the Joe's Blooms tool will generate a partially completed metric sheet. You should not use this metric sheet for any role other than BNGx - it will not be acceptable for submission to the LPA.

Simply download the metric sheet from your email and upload it to BNGx.

Step Five: Provide basic details

Once you have uploaded the metric sheet, you will need to answer a few basic questions.

Step Six: Review your offers!

When all is finished, you will be provided with a range of offers from BNGx. You will be given the choice between purchasing off-site units or availability certificates. BNGx will ensure:

  • That you secure the necessary number of units

What are Availability Certificates?

Availability certificates are special documents that you can provide to the LPA to show that you have identified off-site units and, in the event that you get planning permission, you can then purchase the full units.

ACs are NOT a commitment to purchase off-site units.

What are off-site units

Purchasing off-site units is a legal agreement whereby you enter a commercial transaction with an off-site provider. The off-site provider has a certain number of registered units that they will, upon payment, allocate to your site. These will be documented and all legal arrangements will be done online. You will receive confirmation of purchase as well as an off-site sheet.

Please note that if you purchase off-site units you will receive a red metric, but this is acceptable - more details can be found here.
