LPAs will want reassurance that there are no European Protected Species (EPS), such as great crested newts or bats on your site.

You can use our tool to undertake an assessment to assess whether there are reasonable grounds to suspect there are EPS present.

Please note that the LPA can insist that, if they believe that there are reasonable grounds to assume that there are certain types of EPS on the site, there is an ecological survey. If there are EPS on your site, you are no longer eligible to use the Joe's Blooms tool and will need to get an ecologist to complete the full metric. Please contact the Joe's Blooms team to discuss next steps including a refund.
