On this page, you can say if you are planning to prune or fell any trees as part of your development.
1. What “Pruned” Means
Pruning refers to the selective removal of parts of a tree — such as branches, buds or roots — in line with recognised standards It does not mean removing the entire tree, but rather reducing, reshaping, or clearing specific parts for safety, access or health reasons.
2. What “Felled” Means
Felling means the complete removal of a tree, usually by cutting it down to ground level. Once a tree is marked as felled, it is treated as removed from the site in the report.
3. How to Mark Trees
- Select Prune or Fell from the toolbar.
- Click on the tree you wish to update. - Pruned trees will turn purple.
- Felled trees will turn red.

4. What Happens in the Report
- Felled trees will no longer count for intersections such as: - Root Protection Area (RPA) intersections
- Canopy intersections
- Trunk intersections

- They will simply be recorded as “Felled”.
5. Important Note
Pruning or felling a tree may constitute an impact under planning standards.
Local planning authorities will normally treat this as a change requiring justification or mitigation.
6. If You Make a Mistake
If you click the wrong option by accident, press the Reset button to return the tree to its original state.
