The Intersections page explains what is happening on your site in relation to nearby trees. At this point, you have already entered all the tree information, and the tool has analysed your proposal to identify intersections – places where your planned works come into contact with a tree, its canopy, or its Root Protection Area (RPA).

This page helps you understand whether your design is acceptable, what changes may be needed, and whether any protected trees will be affected.

How to avoid a full tree report

The top of the page tells you what you need to do to prove that you don't need a full tree report and survey.

You should check the three sections below (accessible by clicking the three green boxes) to ensure there are no issues of the sort drescribed above. If there are no intersections, this will be clearly stated.

Example of no intersections.

If there are no intersections, then please click "continue".

If there are intersections or pruned/felled trees

If there are issues on your site, the different sections will make it clear what the specific problem is. It will also allow you to go back to, for example, amend your proposed works to reduce the impact (or avoid it entirely).

Adding Protected Tree information.

If there are intersections or if there is a clear message stating that you need to consider the impact on protected trees, you should go to the protected tree section. You can add information on protected trees by going to the protected tree tab and clicking the + Add TPO page
