Summary
On this page you should enter in whether there were any constraints when you were conducting the site survey (or walk over). Please note, you only have to enter in information about the habitats within your red line, you do NOT have to enter in information about any off-site units you may be considering purchasing.
Detailed guidance
Examples may include:
insufficient access to certain areas to make detailed inspections of flora,
surveying out of season where there is evidence that seasonal flora of note may be in place. While the assessment can be done at any time, Natural England has said (opens in new window) that the optimal survey season is April to September inclusive for most habitat types (you should also refer to our 5-minute guide for more information on what months are not good for habitat surveys). In the absence of seasonally appropriate survey data/evidence, the assessor must use a precautionary approach to assess condition criteria that are not measurable at the time of year the survey is undertaken.
You should read our 5-minute guide to conducting a site survey to get some ideas of best practice and where else there may be limitations in your site survey.
If you don't think there were any limitations, you can leave this field blank.
