On this page, you should upload the statutory biodiversity metric Excel file that your off-site supplier provided you. You can leave it blank if you are only indicating an intent to purchase off-site units for now.
What do you need from Off-site units?
The Metric with your offsite units must be a full statutory metric (NOT a small site metric) and the data for the offsite units you have purchased must be in the "Off Site" sheets of the Metric. Your off-site provider must prepare this Metric for you, not you.
The offsite units you have purchased must come from a provider and gain site registered with Natural England. Your provider will have a Gain Site Register Number you can check with Natural England to confirm the site is registered. If the site has not been duly registered and accepted by Natural England, your units are not legally compliant and your planning application will be rejected.
In addition, your purchase of units itself needs to be registered with Natural England. You may do this, or your supplied may do it for you. If your supplier says they will do it for you, you must check that they have in fact done so. If your purchase has not been registered your planning application will be rejected.
Please note that if your offsite units and their Metric doesn't meet these requirements, it will not be accepted.
