In addition to reviewing your health history and goals, the provider will order any necessary lab work. This step ensures your suitability for our program and to determine which medications would be most optimal for weight management.
The required labs encompass a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), hemoglobin A1C (HgbA1C), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and a lipid panel.
If you have had these labs completed within the past 24 months, you may not need labs ordered during the initial consultation, but this decision will be made by the provider. You may upload previous lab results into the patient portal or submit it to: support@joinfridays.com where someone from our team will upload it to the chart for the provider to review.
When are labs needed?
Labs are a crucial part of our care protocol, and are required once every 12 months. Depending on each patient's unique circumstances, providers may opt to prescribe medication first and review lab results during the subsequent visit. Alternatively, the provider may deem it necessary to conduct labs before prescribing medication, assessing eligibility. This determination is made during the initial visit, tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
NOTE: Eligible patients can get three prescriptions (including 1 dose escalation) before labs are required.
Labs Cost
If you are on one of the new subscription plans (after 09/09/2024) labs via Quest are covered. Legacy patients who signed up before 9/9/2024 under a monthly membership are charged a fixed rate of $33 per lab order through Quest. You will be billed by OpenLoop Health after we receive your test results.
If you prefer to use your insurance or if there are no Quest labs nearby, we can provide a general lab order for use at any lab of of your choice. Payment for these labs are made directly at the lab and not through OpenLoop.

Fridays is partnered with Quest Labs to offer our patients a more cost-effective solution for their lab requirements. Upon receiving a Quest lab order, you will be provided with a Quest Lab requisition form, which you can conveniently print (soft copy is also acceptable) and take along to your nearest Quest location.

How labs results are uploaded and shared with Fridays
Quest sends your results directly to us, where our lab team reviews and uploads them to your patient portal. If any information is missing, we will reach out via email to inform you.
For labs conducted elsewhere, results can be faxed to (515) 808-7146, after which the lab team uploads them to your patient portal. If any information is missing, we will reach out via email to inform you.
You also have the option to upload your own lab results directly to the patient portal. Upon receiving your lab results, we notify your provider to review. If any information is missing, we will reach out via email to inform you.
