Installing Juro in Word πͺ
π‘NOTE: Install the Juro app directly from Microsoft's Marketplace.
To install/open Juro in Word on both Windows and macOS machines:
Open the Home tab on any document in Word
Click the Add-ins icon: ensure you are signed into the correct Microsoft Account
Click More Add-ins
In the pop-up window, type "Juro" in the search bar and hit Enter
Click Add next to Juro
Click Continue to install the Juro plug-in
The Juro icon will pop up on the right Word's Home tab.
π‘ NOTE: The Juro app doesn't overwrite contracts in your Word instance. Installing it grants access to a Juro sidebar within Word so that you can work from there.
Uploading a new third-party contract β¬οΈ
When you receive a vendor contract or any third-party contract in Word, you can upload it directly to your preferred Juro workspace. To do this:
2. If prompted, log into your Juro account (you may need to refresh the plug-in if it doesn't automatically log in after this). |
|
5. Select the template you'd like to apply to the contract. Where you do not wish to apply a template, click Skip. |
|
6. Sync the document with your Juro contract. |
|
Going forward, changes made in the source file will reflect in Juro any time you Save the document in Word. |
7. Keep the sidebar open to continue syncing in Juro as you review and redline the contract. |
|
To open the document in a browser tab, you can click See Juro document.
Similarly, in Juro, you'll see an option to open the document in Word next to the contract's name. |
Uploading versions of an existing contract πͺ
To sync the latest updates to active contracts, you can upload the document as a new version of an existing document through the Word plug-in. To do this:
2. If prompted, log into your Juro account (you may need to refresh the plug-in if it doesn't automatically log in after this). |
|
4. Next, select Continue with Word. |
|
Going forward, changes made in the source file will reflect in Juro any time you Save the document in Word. |
Collaborating on contracts from Word π€
The Word plug-in also has access to your Comments sections. Tagging functionality for internal users and two-way sync make collaboration on your reviews even smoother.
To add comments from the Word plug-in:
2. Click the Comment button to open the text field. To tag an internal user, put an @ before their name (e.g. @Joe Bloggs) and select the user from the dropdown menu. |
|
Users can start a thread on any comment, from either Word or Juro, by clicking Reply on the relevant thread. |
Sending a contract for approval from Word ποΈ
To send a contract through Juro's approval flow from Word:
2. Click + Add approver. |
|
4. Add a message for your approver if needed. Otherwise, the request email body will simply read: "Sender name has asked you to approve a document." |
|
If further changes are made to a document after it has been approved, approvers will receive an updated notification containing a summary of the new changes to be reviewed:

The Juro plug-in's ribbon π
When you select the Juro tab in Word after the plug-in has been installed, you'll see several buttons across the top of your Word ribbon.
These allow you to land back in Juro to carry out the following actions:
Add tags
Add internal comments
Use AI to review the document
Send the document for signature
Troubleshooting Word plug-in issues π¬
What happens when multiple users are reviewing the contract at once? π₯
Juro contracts can be accessed by one internal user at a time: this is to avoid edits from multiple users generating unneeded versions with each change.
β
Word documents uploaded to Juro through the Word plug-in will follow this behaviour. If someone is already editing the document in Juro or Word when you review the contract in Word, the following message will show.
You should avoid making edits to the contract at this time, as they will not be reflected in the sync.
Once the other user has finished their edits, you'll see a new message prompting you to sync the document with the latest version of the contract.
If a contract has already been sent for signing, you will see this message. No more action is needed from your side!
