Before we begin, there are a few things to note about Walmart Connect API integration:
API partners can only be added by a Walmart account admin.
Steps must be taken within Walmart as well as Kapoq to complete the API connection.
Account connections through the API are not instant, but Kapoq will work to complete the connection same-day.
There is a 60-day backfill of data that will take between 24 and 48 hours to complete.
Adding an API Partner in Walmart
Log in to the Walmart advertising console (https://advertising.walmart.com/) and navigate to the Admin page, and then the API Partner - Advertiser level section.
In the bottom right corner, select the '+ Add Partner' button.
Two drop-down menus will appear. In the API Partner name drop-down, select 'Kapoq' from the options.
In the Access type drop-down, select 'Write access'. This will allow Kapoq to pull in advertising data as well as send back changes users make within our platform.
To finish the connection piece within Walmart, select the 'Add partner' button to grant access to your advertising account to Kapoq.
Please contact your Customer Success rep and share the name of the Walmart account you've added Kapoq as a partner to.
Adding a Walmart Account in Kapoq
Now that access has been granted to Kapoq as an API partner within the Walmart Admin console, the account needs to be set up within Kapoq so we finish the connection and begin pulling in data.
1. Navigate to the Company that you are adding a Walmart Connect account for select the magnifying glass icon next to it.
If you need to create a new company, please follow the instructions here and then reference the below steps to finish adding the Walmart Connect account.
2. Select the 'Create & Connect' button under the New Account section.
3. Name the account and then select the channel and geo from the drop-down - this will be either Walmart - 3p or Walmart - 1p. Select the 'Save' button.
4. You'll see the new account tile populating in the Company detail page; select the 'Connect' button next to Walmart Advertising.
5. A new modal will open displaying all the Walmart advertising profiles. Select the 'Link' button next to the appropriate advertising profile that should be connected to the newly created Walmart account.
Be very careful that the advertising profile you are selecting is the correct profile for the account you've creating. Advertising profiles can only be connected to a single account.
The advertising profile may not be available for you to select. Kapoq refreshes available account API access every 15 minutes and will need to assign the new account to your tenant. A customer success contact will reach out when the tenant assignment is completed.
