Setting up the right Targets is one of the most important steps in growing your account with Kenji. It tells the system who to engage with, so you’re reaching the kind of followers you actually want for your account.
You must set your targeting in order for your growth to start.
Go to the Targeting tab inside the Home Section of your Kenji dashboard
Click “Add Targets”
You can choose between:
Accounts: When you add a Target account, Kenji looks at its followers and starts engaging with them. If your content is in a similar niche, there’s a strong chance those users will follow you back and interact with your posts.
Hashtags: When you add a hashtag, Kenji finds and interacts with users who have recently used it in their posts. This is a smart way to reach people already engaging with content in your niche, especially if the hashtags are relevant to your industry or competitors.
Best Practices
Choose Targets with 20K to 250K followers
Monitor your Followback rates % (you’ll find this next to every target)
A good rate is 10% or higher
Replace any low-performing Targets regularly
Use Filters to narrow your audience by things like post count or public/private account status
We recommend starting with 10–15 relevant Targets. The more aligned they are with your brand or content, the better your results will be.

Archiving Targets
You can archive any Target you’re not currently using. This pauses engagement but keeps your performance data saved!
To archive:
Click on a Target
Select “Archive Source”
All of the archived targets will be at the bottom of your targeting list. You can restore them anytime by hitting “Reactivate source”.
