  1. From the Dashboard on your tablet or laptop, select the ADD STATUS button under the status for each individual asset.

  2. From your mobile device, you can select the SCAN:ENTER button at the bottom of the page to start scanning directly. You can also click on the downward arrow for any specific asset and then click on the VERIFY button:

  3. The SCAN:ENTER option will open your camera and prompt for a direct scan. The VERIFY option will prompt you to select the appropriate status according to the asset and its current situation. The SCAN TAG OR SERIAL status applies if you know where the asset is located, and you can physically scan either its tag or serial number.

  4. Select the building and room where the asset is located. This selection will be the location where the item will be listed. Click on CONTINUE button.

    1. Always SEARCH for existing building and rooms first before adding them. Most locations will already be loaded in the system.

  5. Place camera on barcode or serial number to scan them into the system. The red line on the screen does not have to line up with the physical barcode. It is just a visual reference. Your camera should be able to read the tag when its in the displayed box:

  6. You will hear a beep once the scan is successful. If there is a match with data in the system, the following screen will ask you to review existing asset information and VERIFY:

  7. If barcode does not scan, you can type the TAG NUMBER or SERIAL NUMBER into the ENTER TAG or S/N textbox or click on the NOT SCANNING? link, which will display any items located in the space selected:

See article "Verifying Assets: Barcode is not scanning" for information on how to proceed if you encounter this issue.
