The Explore function on the Kernel platform helps you browse Kernel investments and learn what each product is designed to do - so you can compare options and understand what you’re investing in.
What you can do in Explore
In Explore, you can:
View the range of Kernel investments including Kernel Funds, US ETFs, US Shares, Savings and KiwiSaver
Browse, search or filter investments
See key information like the investment description, holdings, and other details
Tap through to invest (if you’re eligible and the investment is available in your account)
How to use Explore to view investments
Step 1: Open Explore
Log in to your Kernel account.
Select Explore from the main menu navigation.
Step 2: Browse, search or filter investments
In Explore, you can:
Scroll to browse the list of investments, or
Use search to find a specific fund by name.
You can also filter results by clicking View all for a product group (e.g., Curated US Shares). You can refine your search further by clicking the Filter button.
Step 3: Click on an investment to view details
Select an investment you’re interested in.
You’ll be taken to the product page where you can view details such as:
What the investment is designed for
What it invests in (and where)
The risk level and past performance of the investment.
Here is an example for the Kernel High Growth fund.
Why can’t I see a specific investment in Explore?
Some investments may not appear if:
they’re not available yet (e.g., launching soon), or
they’re not available for the specific product set you’re using (e.g., different availability across Kernel Funds vs US Shares)
If you tell us the name of the investment you’re looking for, we can help confirm what you should see.
Is Explore the same as investing?
Explore is designed to help you view and learn about investments. Investing happens once you select a fund and follow the prompts to make an investment.
