Navigating the Entities Page
Access the Entities Page:
Go to the Entities page under Setup within the KEY ESG platform. Here, you’ll find a list of entities associated with your company.Understanding the Layout:
Entity Names: Displayed on the left side. Each entity name should be unique.
Tags: Shown in the middle column. Tags are flexible and can be reused across multiple entities.
Owner: The responsible person for each entity appears on the right.
Key Tagging Principles
Unique Entity Names:
Each entity should have a unique name to avoid confusion. Duplicate names for entities can lead to data mismanagement, so make sure each entity is uniquely identifiable.Reusable Tags:
Tags are designed to be reusable across entities, making it easier to group entities when filtering data for reports. For example, tags like “Latvia” and “Facility” can be applied to multiple entities (e.g., Facility 2, Facility 3, and Facility 4).Multiple Tags Per Entity:
Entities can have multiple tags, and similarly, one tag can apply to multiple entities. This flexibility is particularly useful for filtering groups in ESG reports.
Adding and Editing Entities and Tags
Editing an Entity:
To edit an entity, click on the three dots next to the entity’s name and select Edit Entity.
Creating New Tags:
Within the edit screen, you can add new tags by typing in the tag box and selecting Create Tag.
For instance, if you have a tag like “Agency 1” and want to categorize it under “Marketing,” you can simply add “Marketing” as a new tag.
Saving Changes:
Once you’ve added or edited tags, click Save Changes to ensure the new tags are associated with the entity.
Using Tags for Reporting
Filtering Entities by Tags:
When generating reports, you can filter entities by tags to view specific groups.
Use the drop-down filter at the bottom to select entities with a particular tag, such as “Facilities.”
This feature allows you to see all data associated with tagged entities, like emissions data.
Viewing Tagged Data:
Once filtered, you can view detailed data for the selected entities. For example, if you filter by “Facilities,” you’ll see all relevant data entries, such as fugitive emissions data associated with those entities.
Conclusion
Using tags in KEY ESG effectively can streamline your ESG data reporting by allowing flexible grouping and filtering. Remember to keep entity names unique, use tags flexibly, and leverage the platform’s filtering tools to view the data you need. We hope this guide helps you get the most out of your entity tagging experience on the KEY ESG platform.
