What is Ask KEY?
Ask KEY is an in-app AI chat assistant built directly into the KEY ESG platform. It brings the same MCP-powered capabilities you get from connecting an external AI tool (like Claude or ChatGPT) straight into KEY ESG itself, no external AI client, login, or setup required.
With Ask KEY, you can ask questions in plain language and get accurate answers pulled from your live, verified ESG data: metrics, targets, entities, and portfolio performance.
How to access it
Ask KEY is available directly within the platform for organisations with AI Capabilities enabled. If you don't see it, contact your platform admin or support@keyesg.com
What you can do
Ask questions about your data
Query your metrics, entities, targets, and portfolio performance conversationally and get real-time, accurate answers grounded in your live KEY ESG data.
Review your chat history
Previous conversations are saved so you can pick up where you left off and revisit past answers.
How do I use it?
Click Ask KEY in the menu
Type your question into the box at the top (in your own words, no special format needed) and hit send, or click one of the suggested question "chips" underneath the box to try it instantly.
Watch the answer appear on screen as it's written, so you don't need to wait for a blank page to fill.
If a table appears in the answer, you can copy it straight into Excel or Google Sheets using the copy button next to it.
After you get an answer, more suggested follow-up questions appear. Click one to keep digging, or type your own.
Every question and answer is saved automatically. Come back later and you'll see your recent conversations listed on the page. Click one to pick up where you left off, or start a brand-new chat any time.
Example questions you can ask
If you're a Fund Manager:
"Summarise the ESG performance across my portfolio"
"Which of my portfolio companies haven't submitted data yet?"
"Which targets across my funds are at risk of missing their deadline?"
"Break down our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by portfolio company"
If you're a Standalone Company or Portfolio Company:
"Summarise our ESG performance"
"Which of our targets are at risk?"
"Break down our emissions by scope"
"Find our policy on modern slavery"
"What's the status of our latest CSRD submission?"
You don't have to use these exact words. Just ask naturally, the way you'd ask a colleague.
