Setting up your portfolio companies in the KEY ESG platform is a critical first step for fund managers to begin sending data requests and measuring their portfolio’s ESG metrics. Here’s a quick guide to help you through the process of adding a new company and their financial details within the Fund Manager Portal.

Watch the video below to see how you can do this in the KEY ESG platform:

Step 1: Access the Company Management Page

  1. Navigate to the Setup section in your Fund Manager Portal.

  2. Click on Companies. This will take you to the Company Management page where you can view and edit basic information about your portfolio companies.

Step 2: Adding a New Company

  1. Click Invite Company to add a new portfolio company.

  2. Choose either an existing fund or add a new fund that the company will be part of.

  3. Follow the prompts to add the following details:

    • Company name

    • Country of headquarters and primary country of operations

    • Currency

    • Industry

    • Primary contact information

    • Data collection framework (such as SFDR or other reporting standards)

  4. Once all the information is entered, click Send Invitation. An invitation will be sent to the listed primary contact, allowing them to set up their account and start inputting their ESG data.

Step 3: Entering Financial Data

  1. Once the company has been added, you can input their financial data by clicking on the three dots next to their name on the Company Management page.

  2. Add or edit details such as:

    • The company’s enterprise value

    • Ownership stake for the general partner (GP)

    • Investment details, including whether the company is part of one or multiple funds

  3. Note: If you are reporting under the SFDR framework, certain fields will be mandatory and highlighted in green to help guide you through the required information.

Step 4: Managing Contacts and Funds

You can always return to the Company Management page to:

  • Edit the primary contact’s information

  • Update fund details

  • Resend invitations if needed
