Custom Affiliates is designed to help you manage unique agreements with specific affiliates. This feature allows you to set special commission or discount rates (Shopify programs only) for individual affiliates without affecting your general program offer.

What Are Custom Affiliates?

A Custom Affiliate is any affiliate whose commission rate or discount value (Shopify only) has been individually adjusted. This designation helps you easily identify and manage affiliates with whom you have special agreements.

How Custom Affiliates Are Created

Individual Rate Adjustments:
When you change an affiliate's commission rate or discount value directly through their profile, they are immediately flagged as a Custom Affiliate for that specific rate.

Custom Commission Rate Affiliate: Created when an affiliate's commission rate is altered.
Custom Discount Affiliate (Shopify Only): Created when an affiliate's discount value is adjusted.

How to Change a Custom Affiliate’s Rate

To update the rate for a Custom Affiliate, you must adjust it directly through their individual profile. General program settings will not override these custom values, giving you full control over these special arrangements.

Access Affiliate Details:
- From your dashboard, navigate to the Affiliates section and select the affiliate you want to update.
Edit Affiliate Settings:
- Click on the Edit button next to the affiliate’s commission or discount offer.
Update Rates:
- Adjust the commission and/or discount values for this specific affiliate.
- Remember, you have the flexibility to either increase or decrease these values.
Save Changes: Click Save to update the affiliate’s settings.
- The new rates will apply to all future referrals for that affiliate.

How to Identify Custom Affiliates

Kickbooster makes it easy to spot affiliates with custom settings:

Custom Badge on Affiliates Page:
On the main Affiliates page, any affiliate with a customized rate will have a custom affiliate badge next to their name. This badge quickly tells you which affiliates have unique agreements.

Badge in Affiliate Profile:
When you view an affiliate’s profile, you'll see a custom settings badge that displays both the current general program rate and the affiliate’s specific custom rate. This visual cue helps you understand at a glance how their rates differ from the standard offer.
Filter Your Affiliates List:
You can also filter your affiliate list to display:
- Affiliates with a custom commission rate
- Affiliates with a custom discount rate
- Affiliates with both custom commission and discount rates

Using these features, you can efficiently manage and monitor your special affiliate agreements.

Automatic Email Notifications

Whenever a custom affiliate’s rate is changed, they will be automatically notified via email. This ensures that your affiliates are always kept up-to-date with any modifications to their specific referral offers.
