🏛️ Georgia – Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Georgia Tax Center (GTC)

Updated this week

This article walks you through how to log into Georgia Tax Center (GTC) portal and update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) settings. Adding Kintsugi’s secure group email allows us to access your Georgia tax registration directly—no phone calls or back-and-forth codes needed.

✅ What You’ll Need

  • Georgia login page

  • Your Georgia Tax Center login credentials (username & password)

  • The 2FA virtual mail group ID
[Go to Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID)

  • Just 5–7 minutes of your time

🔐 Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log into the Georgia Tax Center

    1. Enter your credentials and click “Sign In

    2. Upon entering your login credentials, you will receive a two-factor authentication code sent to the email address or phone number associated with your account.

TIP: Check “Trust this device” — this helps avoid repeated 2FA prompts during the process.

  2. Go to your account settings

    1. Once logged in, click “Manage My Profile

    2. Navigate to Security section then click “Change Two-Step Settings

  3. Update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method

    1. Locate the Email section and click “Add Email

    2. To obtain the Virtual Group Mail ID, please navigate to the Kintsugi platform and copy it directly from there.
      Example: file-upload-demo-cody@tax-platform.com
(Check your Kintsugi app: Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID)

    3. Simply paste the Virtual Group Mail ID you copied from the Kintsugi platform into the designated field below. After entering the required information, click "Save."

  4. Verify the change

  • A one-time code will be sent to Kintsugi Mail’s inbox

  • You’ll see this code appear in your Kintsugi Operations Inbox

  • Enter the code on GTC website to verify and complete the setup

Once verified, your account is now connected. Kintsugi Mail will then be able to receive two-factor authentication codes whenever you log into your account in the future.
