🏛️ North Dakota – Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on ND TAP

This article walks you through how to log into North Dakota Taxpayer Access Point (ND TAP) website and update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) settings. Adding Kintsugi’s secure group email allows us to access your North Dakota tax registration directly—no phone calls or back-and-forth codes needed.

ND TAP login page
Your ND TAP login credentials (username & password)
The 2FA virtual mail group ID
[Go to Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID)

🔐 Step-by-Step Instructions

Log into the ND TAP
1. Go to https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/
2. Input your credentials then click “Log In”.
3. If prompted with “Verify Security Code”, enter the security code sent through your registered email and choose “YES” to answer the question “Do you want to trust this computer?”— this helps avoid repeated 2FA prompts during the process, then click “Confirm”.
Go to your account settings
1. Once logged in, click your “Manage My Profile” in the top-right corner.
2. Go to “Two Step Verification Setting” and click on “Change Two-Step Settings".
Update your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) method
1. Look for “Email” column.
2. Select “Add Email”.
3. Replace the existing email (if any) with Kintsugi Mail.
  Enter the Virtual Group Mail ID from the Kintsugi platform.
  Example: file-upload-demo-cody@tax-platform.com
  (Check your Kintsugi app: Configuration > Kintsugi Mail > Virtual Mail Group > Group ID)
4. Save the changes.
Verify the change

A verification code will be sent to Kintsugi Mail’s inbox
You’ll see this code appear in your Kintsugi Operations Inbox
Enter the code on ND TAP to verify and complete the setup

Once verified, your account is now connected. Kintsugi Mail will then be able to receive two-factor authentication codes whenever you log into your account in the future.
