If you did not use our ManageBac import last year, please only select your new students and classes for import to avoid your continuing students/classes being overridden.
To proceed with the integration, you must first have the API token (key). Click here for instructions on how to do this:
Instructions
Log in to your Kognity account
Select 'Manage School' on the top right corner of your screen
Select the 'Integrations' tab
Copy the API token (key) from ManageBac into the Kognity API space.

Select 'Import classes and people'
Select the grade levels you want to import, then select 'view classes'
Select the classes you want to import. Then ensure the 'Subject in Kognity' is correct, or change to the correct course. Once this is completed, select 'Review selection'.
Note: Only select the subjects you have licenses for. If you would like additional subjects, you may import them, however, they will be locked from use until you have upgraded your subscription (contact your Account Manager).

On this page, you can view a summary of your actions. When ready, select 'Import classes and people to Kognity'.
Note: all imported students and teachers will get a welcome email with login information at this step.
The import is complete! You can now view all classes on Kognity!
Troubleshooting guide: selecting classes to import
Kognity only pulls in subjects we offer (i.e. you will not see French B)
Kognity automatically chooses HL, but you can select the SL subject from the dropdown menu
If the wrong subject is automatically selected, select the correct one in the dropdown menu
New syllabus/specifications: Where the course has recently changed, make sure to select the subject with the correct year of First Examination as listed in the title
HISTORY: Kognity offers 3 history books for 3 different topics. Select one for the import (i.e. Move to Global War), then the others can be added afterwards by you in Manage Classes or by the history teacher creating classes themselves
Troubleshooting guide: general issues
The system cannot retrieve my classes and I'm getting an error
Try once more, especially if you have a lot of classes.
Confirm all your class lists are correctly set up in MB with the correct year groups
If this still doesn't work, contact our support team and we will help you upload your lists
We only use ManageBac for CORE
Unfortunately, you will not be able to use this integration. Please contact your Kognity account manager for support.
Our classes have changed in ManageBac
You can run the class import as many times as needed. When we import to existing classes on Kognity, we will NOT delete any users who are no longer in the ManageBac class. This is to avoid students losing their progress if they have been removed from ManageBac by mistake. New students and teachers will be ADDED to existing classes. To remove anyone from a class or from Kognity please go to Manage School then Manage Classes.
