Troubleshooting Guide
If you encounter any issues during the integration process, refer to the relevant section below.
Troubleshooting: Selecting Classes to Import
Missing Subjects: Kognity only pulls in subjects that we offer (e.g., you will not see Music if it's not a Kognity offering).
HL/SL Selection: Kognity automatically suggests HL subjects, but you can select the corresponding SL subject from the dropdown menu if needed.
Incorrect Subject Auto-Selected: If the wrong subject is automatically selected, simply choose the correct one from the dropdown menu.
New Syllabus/Specifications: For courses that have recently changed, make sure to select the subject with the correct year of First Examination as listed in the title.
History Courses: Kognity offers three history textbooks for three different topics. Select one for the initial import (e.g., 'Move to Global War'). The others can be added afterwards either by you in 'Manage Classes' or by the history teacher creating classes themselves.
Troubleshooting: General Issues
"The system cannot retrieve my classes and I'm getting an error"
First Attempt: Try the import process once more, especially if you have a large number of classes.
Confirm ManageBac Setup: Double-check that all your class lists are correctly set up in ManageBac with the appropriate year groups.
Still Not Working? If the issue persists, please contact our support team, and we will assist you in uploading your lists.
"We only use ManageBac for CORE"
Unfortunately, this integration will not be suitable for your setup if you only use ManageBac for CORE subjects. Please contact your Kognity Account Manager for alternative support options.
"Our classes have changed in ManageBac"
You can run the class import as many times as needed to sync changes.
Important: When we import to existing classes on Kognity, we will not delete any users who are no longer in the ManageBac class. This is to prevent students from losing their progress if they were removed from ManageBac by mistake.
New students and teachers will always be added to existing classes.
To remove anyone from a class or from Kognity entirely, please go to 'Manage School' then 'Manage Classes' within Kognity.
