Platform Tutorials: Scenario General Settings

Written by Kevin Jabbour

General

◾Source Range

This represents the dates that we have in our platform for actual data from your dataset

◾Model Input Range

This represents the dates that are used as actual historic data for this particular scenario. In most cases this will be up to the latest date we have received data for, butit provides the option to cut the dataset at a point in the past. For example if you wanted to run a ‘what if we did xyz 3 months ago’ the datafeed could be cut 3 months ago and a scenario processed at that point. In order to edit you can simply use the drop down bars to edit the start date and end date. With the end date, this can be a particular date in time or a certain number of days prior to the final date specified in source range.

◾Gross Margin

This represents your net sales revenue less cost of good sold, for example platform fees

◾Model Output

The date until which the model is generated. You can select an actua calendar end date or a relative one x days from the model input end date.

◾Daily Resolution

Our platform calculates all results to all Dx points, however to save time we often only display major Dx points in the results, 1,7,14,30,365, and all multiples of 10. If you wish to see results for all days then select daily resolution. Note - this will increase processing time

Reports

Include scenario in product reports: Toggles whether scnenario is hidden or visible in the product view

Updates

◾Scenario Recalculation

Here you can select how often a scenario reprocesses.

  • Manual: Will not process unless manually pushed - note that default scenarios can not be manual

  • Auto-update when product data is updated: Scenario will be processed each time the data feed is uploaded

  • Auto-update on a schedule: Opportunity to select a specific time when the scenarios are updated. This is often the preferred method

◾Scenario Settings

This gives the option to lock or unlock a scenario preventing settings from being changed.

◾Cancel Scenario Run

If a scenario that is processing needs to be cancelled before completing this will become available
