I’m not receiving an SMS TAN – what can I do?

If you're having trouble receiving an SMS from us (e.g. a confirmation code), there could be several reasons. Please check the following points:

  1. Airplane mode or poor signal:
    Make sure your phone is not in airplane mode and that you have a stable network signal.

  2. Restart your smartphone:
    Restarting can help – sometimes the device loses its connection to the so-called A2P network, which is used to send our SMS messages. This may cause delays.

  3. Try a different device:
    If possible, try receiving the SMS on another device using your SIM card.

  4. Are you abroad?
    Receiving SMS messages abroad may be limited or delayed depending on network coverage and your roaming settings.

Good to know:

You can also easily approve transfers using Touch ID, Face ID or biometric login, so you no longer need an SMS-TAN.

  2. Open the Kontist mobile app

  3. Click on the profile at the top left and then on Settings

  4. Click on Security and activate Touch ID, Face ID or biometric login

Please make sure that Kontist has permission to use Touch ID, Face ID or biometric login in your general mobile settings.
