Are your nannies registered with Ofsted?

This article has been written for the families enquiring if Koru Kids nannies are Ofsted registered

Updated this week

Quick Links:

Koru Kids nannies are not Ofsted registered as standard. While Koru Kids as a business is registered with Ofsted, this registration does not extend to our nannies. This means you likely won’t be able to use any government funding with our nannies.

Are any of your nannies registered independently?

A very small number of our nannies are registered with Ofsted independently - you can check their profile, or ask them directly.

Can I ask a nanny to register with Ofsted?

A nanny may be willing to register with Ofsted, but please be aware that the process takes up to 12 weeks, costs upwards of £250, and involves additional training requirements. If you’d like to explore this option, please make sure you agree who will cover the costs up front.

You can find out more about how to register with Ofsted here.

What if I find an Ofsted-registered nanny I’d like to work with?

If you find an Ofsted-registered nanny you’d like to use funding with, or have agreed with a nanny that they will become registered, please reach out to care@korukids.co.uk so we can share how it works.

What if I need an Ofsted registered nanny to use government funding like Tax-Free Childcare?

In full transparency, we might not be the best service for you if you’re hoping to use funding like:

  • Universal Credit

  • Tax Free Childcare

  • Childcare Grant

  • Funded Hours

For more information on this, please read this Help Centre article.

Why aren’t your nannies registered?

We would love to be able to offer Ofsted registration to all our nannies. Unfortunately, the way the system is currently set up means that isn’t possible. We’re in discussions with the Department for Education about this, and are lobbying for change in this area.
