This article has been written for the Koru Kids Nanny Service for nannies who are thinking about applying.
We take safeguarding seriously at Koru Kids, so all applicants need to upload a valid ID document when they apply. Don’t worry if you’re not sure which one to upload. We’re here to help.
As well as your document, we’ll need a photo of you holding it up (see the image below).
If you’re from the UK or Ireland, you can upload:
your UK or Irish passport
or
your UK or Irish birth or adoption certificate, plus proof of your National Insurance number
Your proof can be an official letter with your National Insurance number on it, dated any time. This is usually a letter from HMRC, a P45 or P60, or a letter from a former employer.
If you’re from outside the UK or Ireland:
We’ll check your right to work online using your share code. Make sure it’s a right to work share code, which starts with “W”. You can get one on the GOV.UK prove your right to work page.
You’ll also need to upload one of these ID documents:
your current, valid passport
your current, valid driving licence
We can’t accept travel documents as your ID document.
If you’re on a Skilled Worker visa, we’ll also ask for a letter from your sponsor. We’ll let you know what it needs to include.
