Due to a variety of reasons, you or the family may need to bring the contract to an end. While this is unfortunate, it does happen.

Don't worry - Koru Kids is here to support you in wrapping up your contract with your family and helping you find a new role.

What if I can't work for the family anymore?

If you need to bring the arrangement to an end, it's important that you speak to the family about this as soon as possible. You'll need to provide them with the agreed notice period, but if you can let them know sooner that's great as it will give them more time to find a new nanny. If you're not sure what your notice period is, you can find this in your employment contract.

We highly recommend that you provide notice to the family either in person or with a phone call. This is the most professional way to end an arrangement, and ensures that all parties understand why the arrangement is coming to an end and can make any final arrangements as necessary. If you need any support in how to have this conversation, don't hesitate to get in touch with our team.

You should confirm any agreement between you and the family in writing. For example, if you have agreed to work your notice period you should agree your final working day and confirm this in writing with them.

Once you and the family have spoken with each other about ending the role, simply follow the link in the button below to let us know. Filling in this form will give us all the information we need to wrap things up and help you find a new role.

What if the family don't need me to work anymore?

The family may need to end the arrangement, in which case they should provide you with the notice period as per your employment contract.

If the family offer to pay you notice in lieu, instead of working your final shifts, please do not report these shifts on your timesheet. Do get in contact with us to let us know what you've agreed with the family.
