Taking a pause? Not actively looking for a job right now?

You've popped your profile on pause by hiding it from the family search view, but somehow you're still getting those little reminder messages to log in and respond to a family!

So, why are families still able to message you even after you've hidden your profile?

First things first - let's double check you have actually made yourself invisible. Once you're logged in, you'll need to tap the little eye symbol at the top of your search screen and turn it red with a line through it to make sure you're truly flying under the radar. If the bar is green and the eye isn't crossed out, families can still see you in their search view. Hit it again to hide your profile!

If you've done this correctly and you're still hearing from families, there are a couple of reasons this might happen -

  • They might have favourited your profile before you hid if from view. If a family has short-listed you, they will still see you in their view, even after you've hidden yourself. We're working on a fix for this so watch this space...

  • They might have messaged you before. Maybe they've reached out before, or you've messaged them and they weren't quite ready to chat. If you've got an open message thread with a family they can still re-open the chat.

So what should you do if a family reaches out but you're really not available?

Just let them down gently - a quick response will be fine to let them know you're sadly no longer available and you wish them all the best.
