Your Vanity Domain is like a virtual piece of real estate that can build up value over time. Adding your own domain name to your btPRO website lets you build up your brand equity and SEO on a property that you own and control. Plus, it's much better for your marketing to have a domain that describes your individual business!
The Vanity Domain add-on is simple. It's a subscription-based service that InsideRE will set it up for you!
Please Note: You must already own your domain before purchasing the Vanity Domain add-on.
Why does this have an associated cost? Shouldn't we just be able to do a domain redirect on your end? Normally, yes that would be the case.
However, there are a few associated costs and management issues:
Fees paid to Cloudflare for DNS hosting.
Fees paid for SSL certificates to ensure your btPRO website can deliver secure web pages.
Fees paid for domain validation.
While the vanity domain looks simple on the surface (as it should) behind the scenes we're managing the DNS-related features that make your website safe and secure.
How to Purchase
Begin by navigating to the Marketplace from the main navigation on the left-hand side.
Find the Vanity Domain Add-On tile and click 'Learn More'. Then select the 'Add to kvCORE' button on the top right.
The Technicals
InsideRE Configuration Specialists will generate the nameservers required for your custom domain via Cloudflare DNS Services. When purchasing a Vanity Domain, you can opt for the Configuration Team to update your nameservers (you'll need to provide working login credentials for your domain registrar) or you can opt to perform the task yourself. However, should you choose to input your own nameservers, you may experience website downtime. Once InsideRE swaps over your domain configuration, your subdomain (original btPRO domain) will no longer be active. There is no additional configuration that takes place aside from setting the primary and secondary nameservers on your domain.
As such, you may use any additional domain-level products such as SSL Certificates or Firewalls which do not require a nameserver change.
What If I Cancel My Vanity Domain Subscription?
If you cancel your Vanity Domain subscription btPRO Support Specialists will remove your domain and change it back to the original subdomain.
You are responsible for updating your nameservers after a cancellation.
