Since November 12th 2025, there is no free version of Lalilo anymore. Buying is necessary to give access to your students.
There are two ways to purchase, depending on your needs :
The classroom license that you can purchase online:

see here if you teach in another country (Warning: If you are not from the USA or Canada, this article and the quote request form it links to for the classroom license are only available in French at this point. But if you speak French, you can still fill it, even if you plan to teach in English.)
The classroom license and the school/district license both offer access to all our features, but the classroom license is limited to a certain number of students, does not provide a placement that uses Star, and does not provide the recommendation to transition to Freckle ELA. The school-district license allows an unlimited number of students, provides a placement that uses the student's Star Reading and Star Early Literacy ratings, and gives (when necessary) a recommendation to transition to Freckle ELA.

If your students were already using Lalilo prior to your purchase and you buy the classroom license, their progress and data will carry over when the switch happens. The features the classroom license will simply be activated on your teacher account, and you will gain more visibility on their progress and history.
This will not always apply if you buy the school/district license, because in most cases you will then roster via the Renaissance Growth platform.
There is no student matching for RGP Shared Rostering (existing Lalilo student data will not be retained).
Renaissance doesn't delete old classes when rostering a user via RGP that was already existing; however, if you want to use RGP classes and students, they will have no data.
If you continue to use old classes, Renaissance won't be able to match students' progressions at the end of the year since we can only match students coming from RGP.
