Your pet's age is one of the factors that can affect your premium at renewal, though there's no fixed rate of increase set out in our policy terms.
Age as a pricing factor
At each renewal, your premium is recalculated based on the pricing calculation carried out at that time. Your pet's age is one of several factors that can be taken into account, alongside things like claims made, breed, address, and (for cats) indoor/outdoor access. We don't have a typical or maximum percentage increase to share, as this depends on your individual circumstances at renewal.
The one age-related change we can confirm
From your first renewal after your pet turns 9, a minimum excess of £99 and minimum co-payment of 25% apply, if your current excess or co-payment are set below these levels. This can increase your premium, unless your pet has been insured with us continuously for 3 years or more before that renewal.
