Will my price change at renewal?

Your premium can change at renewal — here's what to know about how and why.

Does my policy renew automatically?

Yes. We renew your cover automatically each year to make sure there are no gaps. Ahead of your renewal, we'll always let you know:

  • when we plan to take payment

  • any changes to your Terms and Conditions, cover limits or excess

  • what your new premium will be

Why might my premium change?

We don't have a fixed or typical percentage for renewal increases — your new premium depends on the pricing calculation carried out at the time of your renewal. Factors that can be taken into account include:

  • any claims made during the policy year

  • your pet's age

  • breed

  • address

  • neuter status

  • for cats, any change in indoor/outdoor access

Will my excess or co-payment change too?

These can also be reviewed at renewal. One specific change to be aware of: once your pet reaches 9 years old, a minimum excess of £99 and minimum co-payment of 25% applies from your first renewal after their 9th birthday — unless your pet has been insured with us continuously for 3 years or more before that renewal.

What if I don't want to renew?

If you don't wish to renew your policy, please get in touch with our Customer Support team before your renewal date.

What if Lassie decides not to renew my policy?

We'll always let you know in advance if we don't intend to offer you a further year of cover.
