Waiting periods help us keep premiums fair. They are short periods after your policy starts when you cannot claim for certain conditions.
Illness: 10 days
Accidents: 48 hours
Increasing cover or lowering excess/co-pay: 10 days
Adding optional covers: 10 days
Puppies/kittens: No illness waiting period if insured early and with a vet health check
Changing insurers: No waiting period if previous cover was equivalent
Some conditions have longer waiting periods:
Tooth resorption disease: 12 months
Joint and skeletal disease (dogs only): 12 months
