TL;DR: Use the Performance tab to see a visual map of your child's learning. SparkAI automatically tracks growth and finds learning gaps to help your student succeed.
The Performance tab is your central hub for watching your student grow. It gives you a visual way to see progress, find learning gaps, and celebrate every win along the way!
Using the Performance Tab
To see these insights, open a Student Profile and click the Performance tab. This page shows you several important tools to track success:
Mastery Heatmap: A color-coded grid that makes it easy to spot highlights. It shows subjects where your child is doing great and areas where they might need more help.
Growth Trends: A chart that shows your student's Academic Age. This helps you track their learning journey over months or even years.
Course Completion: A simple percentage bar. It shows how much of your planned curriculum you have finished so far.
Gap Analysis: SparkAI automatically finds missing skills. It uses skills decomposition to suggest the best next steps for your child.
💡 Good to know: Using SparkAI to update progress and perform gap analysis uses SparkAI credits. This happens in the background to keep your student's profile accurate!
The Role of Mastery Profiles
In the background, SparkAI is always working to update each student's Mastery Profile. Think of this as a smart map of your child’s skills.
This profile changes based on finished lessons, results, and the feedback you provide. The more information you log, the better SparkAI understands your student's needs. This helps personalize the entire LearnSpark experience.
Recording Mastery Levels
To keep the Mastery Profile and the Learning Journey accurate, you should record mastery levels often. This helps SparkAI know if your student needs a challenge or a quick review. Great job staying on top of their progress!
Open a finished lesson from your Calendar or Dashboard.
Click the Skill Assessment button.
Select the level that fits best:
Introductory: Your student is just meeting a new idea.
Practicing: They understand the basics but need more practice.
Mastered: They can do it all on their own!
Update Status: Mark goals as In Progress or Needs Review. This updates the charts in the Performance tab.
⚠️ Heads up: If you don't update mastery levels, the Gap Analysis tool cannot accurately suggest what your child should learn next.
