[New] How to search files, clauses, matters

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This article explains the features of the new LegalOn. For information on the current version’s product features, please refer to this page.

What is search in LegalOn?

The Search feature lets you search across all data in LegalOn.

From the global header search bar, you can enter a keyword to find all files, clauses, and matters that you have permission to view.

Results include:

  • Files (contracts, templates, other files)

  • Clauses within files

  • Matters

  • Messages, timeline events, emails, and Slack threads (if integrated)

The search results respect your access rights. Only items where you have “Viewer” access or higher will appear.

Supported search targets

When you run a search, the following fields are scanned:

📌 The original auto-posted matter content at creation is searchable. Later manual edits to that content are not.
