Purpose

At every stage of your contract negotiation, LegalOn can help you store and manage different contract versions conveniently. The goal of this article is to help you understand how to do so.

On the left-hand side of your Preview page, you will find version history of your contracts.

From here, you can upload different versions of the contract and edit contract status accordingly.

You may select contract status from the following list:

  • Own draft

  • Counterparty draft

  • Reviewed

  • Counterparty redline

  • Final version

  • Signed version

Now let's walk through with one example.

Suppose you've reached agreement with a counterparty and are ready to upload the final version to LegalOn.

First, you open up the Preview page of the reviewed version.

Next, you hover over to the left-hand side of the Preview page and click on the "Upload" button (i.e., the PLUS sign).

You then upload the contract, update status to "Final version," and click "Upload."

Now hover again to the left-hand side of the Preview page, you'll see the latest version of your contract, tagged by the selected status.

Clicking "..." next to each contract version gives you the ability to edit status, edit file name, remove a contract version from the list, or delete a version.
