Have a client ready to book time? Here is how they pay for coaching!
There are two ways a client can book coaching time with you:
1. Directly on your coach profile
Send them the link to your profile. Here they can purchase a package, a subscription, or ad hoc hours.
When the customer clicks “Buy coaching” or “Book a session, they’ll see this:
When the customer clicks on a package to purchase it, they’ll see this:
If you’ve offered a discount code, your client will be able to add it in at checkout.
2. In the client dashboard inbox
There is a large “Buy Coaching” on the right side of the client’s conversation with you.
If the client hasn’t yet purchased time with you or they’ve already booked time with you and their time balance is out, they’ll see a large “Buy coaching” button on the right side of their conversation with you.
If they still have time on the balance, they’ll see a “Buy coaching” option below the button to schedule a session.
Please make sure clients book time with you before you spend coaching time together. If you have any questions, please submit a support ticket.
Payment Plans
Clients can split qualifying purchases into multiple payments, making it easier to access coaching without paying the full amount upfront.
Here’s what you need to know:
Eligibility: Payment plans are available for any individual coaching purchase priced at $200 or more. This includes both hourly bundles and multi-session purchases, as long as the total price meets the minimum threshold.
Automatic Access: This option is automatically available to all clients, wherever they are in the world.
No Impact on Credit: Leland provides this financing directly — not through a third party — so it won’t affect the client’s credit score.
Where It Appears: Clients will see the payment plan option on the checkout screen of eligible purchases, right below the "Add payment method" section (see screenshot).
FAQs
What’s the difference between a subscription and a payment plan?
Subscriptions are recurring purchases, billed monthly, and continue until the client cancels. They’re often used for ongoing coaching relationships, and coaching time is added to the client's balance each month.
Payment plans, on the other hand, are used to split the cost of a single package into multiple installments. These have a fixed total cost and end automatically once the final installment is paid. All time purchased will be added to the client's balance after the first installment.
From the client’s perspective, subscriptions enable a consistent investment in coaching, while payment plans provide affordability for larger, one-time purchases. From Leland’s perspective, subscriptions support long-term engagement, while payment plans increase access to premium packages by reducing upfront cost barriers.

I changed my price. Will it affect my previous clients?
It will not affect anything retroactively, but it will affect all future purchases. If you have a past client that you want to continue giving your previous price, create a discount code for a X% off your new rate.
