Posting on Socials
Although it may be hard for some, posting on your social media accounts (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) is a great way to build your personal brand and advertise your coaching business on Leland.
LinkedIn, Instagram, and Reddit have all been great ways to organically grow coaching businesses, but we encourage you to test others as well!
Goal of Posting on Socials:
Build authority and demonstrate expertise
Increase visibility and build an audience of potential clients
Facilitate engagement and nurture relationships
Types of Social Posts:
Aggregated Resources: Sharing resources that can help others is a great way to gain an audience and share information about your coaching. This could be resources you find, lists of internships, job boards, other events that are relevant for your audience, etc.
Share Recent Involvements: Share what events, conferences, or extracurriculars you have been involved with recently. Share anything you learned that you think could help your audience!
Invite to an Event: Post about the free events you are hosting to drum up RSVPs — getting the word out there is essential for your event’s success. Make these posts personal — not just “I am hosting an event.”
Share Success Stories: With your client’s permission, share about their wins / acceptances / new jobs. Celebrating them publicly is a great way to ensure they feel accomplished and demonstrate that you as a coach can get results.
Offer Advice: Offering advice is a great way to establish your credibility and brand as a coach. This could be advice about how to start the MBA application process, how to land a job at a prestigious firm, or anything in between.
Discuss Recent News: Staying up to date on industry news is essential, and sharing that news is even better! Give your opinion on recent developments, adding your expert opinion.
Share a Personal Story: Sharing personal stories helps your audience relate to you as a person and get to know you on a deeper level. People love to engage with posts that are personal in nature! Tell your story online.
Give a Hot Take: “Hot take” posts often share a controversial opinion and often attract a lot of eyeballs — people love to share their opinion!
