I’ve been asked to connect my main bank account via Open Banking. What does this mean and what is the information used for?

Open Banking is a secure, regulated way for you to safely share financial data with providers. You are always in control of what you share and who you give access to.

How does it work?

  • Open Banking lets you share a one-time snapshot of your bank account transactions quickly and securely.

  • We use this information only to verify your details and check that the loan or credit is affordable for you.

  • This process saves you from uploading documents and speeds up your application.

Important:
We can’t take payments or do anything else with your bank account; your explicit permission is always needed for any action beyond viewing the shared information.

We use Truelayer, a secure, FCA-regulated provider, to connect to your bank. You can find more information on Truelayer and Open Banking here.
