The Secure Responder helps ensure students stay focused on learning activities by preventing access to other tools or browser tabs during an activity.
Teachers can enable Secure Responder on any activity. Once active, students are locked out immediately if they try to navigate away from the activity. Teachers and administrators can unlock activities if needed.
When Not to Use Secure Responder
If your activity requires other tools, such as chat, monitoring, or proctoring software (Zoom, Teams, Google Meets, etc.), Secure Responder may interfere and should not be used.
What Triggers a Student Lockout
Enabling the Secure Responder
From the left-hand menu, click My Activities, District Activities, or School Activities.

Students see a Secure Activity message at the start of the activity and click Continue to begin.
Clicking outside the Secure Responder or Save for Later immediately locks the activity.
Locked activities are visible under Assignments in the left-hand menu.
