How to create Drag and Drop Items for learning activities:
Click on My Student Actions from the left menu.
Click on the green Add Student Action button in the top right of the Student Actions panel.
Click Next.
4. Here you will see a new panel. At the top will be the Details section. You can add the Grade, Subject, a Description (optional), set the Status of the item (automatically sets it to inactive, be sure to make it active if you want to use it on an assignment), and select the Item Type which in this case would be Drag and Drop.
5. Below the Details section, you will see the Tagging section followed by the Attachments section. In the Tagging section, you can add this new item to an Action Bank, tag the Standards, add Custom Tags, and add the DOK Level. In the Attachments section, you can add attachments to the item such as documents, images, websites, etc. which would then show up with this item on an assignment for students (optional).
โ
Scrolling down, we will now see the Content section. Here is where we are going to create our Drag and Drop item.
6. Here you can add Teacher Instructions. These are not the student directions.
7. Here is where you will put the Prompt. This will be the directions for the students and what they will see for this item when taking an assignment.
8. Click in the text box right below Define Template, Choices, and Correct Responses to set your template. Click on the Response Answer button in that bottom right corner to add a box where you would like to have an answer at.
9. Once we have set our template and defined where the answers would go, we will want to add some answer options. Click on Add Choice to add answer choices.
10. After clicking on Add Choice, you will type an answer choice in the box.
11. After setting all the answer choices, you will then need to drag the correct choices to the correct spots in your template you created.
At the bottom of the panel...
12. Here you can add a Rationale if you would like one.
13. Here you have the option to turn on a calculator for students to use with this item.
14. Here you can add Teacher Notes. These notes are for your own personal use.
15. Finally, you have the Sharing section. You can click on the Share With Selected Colleagues button and share with others at any time (optional). When sharing, we highly recommended only allowing others to make a copy or read only, unless you are wanting them to be able to edit your original you just created.
