About this task

Create dynamic, media-rich learning environments by adding video to your lessons. Video content is ideal for modeling skills, demonstrating real-life examples, and evoking emotions, making lessons more memorable. Delivering training content through multiple sensory channels also improves knowledge retention by increasing learners' focus and comprehension.

Prerequisites

  • You must have permission to create and edit content.

  • You must have installed the screen recording Chrome extension. Learn more.

    2. Wait for the file to finish processing.

    3. Optional: Use the editor to trim the file or create a cover image.

    4. Select Submit when you're finished, or select Cancel to start over.

  4. If you want to embed video:

    1. Copy the URL of the video you want to embed, and then paste it into the text field.

    2. Select Embed Video.

  5. Optional: Select Add Caption to write a brief description of the recording and its contents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does Seismic Learning automatically create captions for my videos?

A. Not at the moment, but we're committed to making Learning accessible for all learners. Is speech recognition a feature you'd like to have? Let us know! Submit your ideas to our product feedback portal.

As a workaround, upload your videos to YouTube, which does apply automatic captioning, then embed the subtitled videos in your lessons.

Q. Can users adjust the playback speed of recordings?

A. Yes. Recordings can be slowed down or speeded up in quarter-sized increments between .5x and 2x.

Q. How can customers retrieve videos recorded in Seismic Learning?

A. To retrieve videos from Learning, please email Support at support@lessonly.com.

Q. What happens if a user tries to record in Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer?

A. If users are not in Google Chrome, the 'Record' option is greyed out, and the user will be prompted to upload a recording.

Q. What is the minimum length for an upload?

A. The minimum length of an A/V file is 1 second.
