Share Externally

Give External Partners Secure, Time-Limited Access to Your Deal Applications

Written by Cohen Nagel

Sometimes you need to share a deal application with someone outside of Levr — a lender contact, a referral partner, or anyone else who needs visibility into the deal without being part of your Levr workspace. The Share Externally feature lets you do exactly that: send a secure, read-only link to anyone, with a built-in expiration date so your data stays protected.

No Levr account required on their end. Just a secure link, controlled access, and a time limit you set.

Video Walkthrough

Watch the full walkthrough to see how to share a deal application externally with secure, time-limited access.

Step 1: Go to Your Deals Tab

Click the Deals tab from your Levr dashboard to see all your active deals in one place. Find the deal you want to share and click into the deal card to open it.

Step 2: Open the Application

Navigate to the Application section inside the deal to review the specifics and current status. This is the view your external collaborator will have access to when you share it.

Step 3: Click the Share Button

Click the Share button to open the external sharing settings. This is where you control who gets access and for how long.

Step 4: Add External Collaborators

Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share with in the Add emails to invite field. External collaborators receive read-only access — they can view the application but cannot make changes to it. Your data stays protected.

Step 5: Set the Link Expiration

Adjust the link expiration period for each collaborator to control how long they can access the deal. Choose the access duration that fits the situation — for example, 14 days gives your collaborator enough time to review while adding an extra layer of security. Once the link expires, access is automatically revoked.

Step 6: Click Share

Click Share to send the secure, time-limited link to your selected collaborators instantly. They'll receive access to the application without needing a Levr account.

Why Use Share Externally

  • No account required. External partners don't need to sign up for Levr. They just click the link and view the application.

  • Read-only access. External collaborators can see what they need but can't edit anything. Your application data stays exactly as you left it.

  • Time-limited links. Every shared link has an expiration date. Once it expires, access is gone — no need to manually revoke anything.

  • Fast and frictionless. Sharing takes seconds. No email chains, no PDFs, no re-explaining where to find things — just a clean, direct link to the application.

Tips for Sharing Externally

  • Match the expiry to the timeline. If you need a quick turnaround, set a shorter expiration. If you're giving someone time to review thoroughly, 14 days is a good default.

  • Use Share Externally for lenders outside the Levr network. If you're working with a lender who isn't integrated with Levr, this is the cleanest way to get them the application details they need.

  • Double-check the application before sharing. Review the application status in the Application section before sending the link — make sure it reflects the most current and accurate information.

  • Let your collaborator know to expect the link. Give them a heads-up so they know to look for the email and don't miss it.

Common Questions

Q: Does the person I share with need a Levr account?
A: No — external collaborators don't need a Levr account. They access the application through the secure link you send them.

Q: Can external collaborators edit the application?
A: No — external access is read-only. They can view the application but cannot make any changes to it.

Q: What happens when the link expires?
A: Access is automatically revoked. The collaborator will no longer be able to open the link after the expiration date you set.

Q: Can I share with more than one person at a time?
A: Yes — add multiple email addresses in the invite field and each person will receive their own secure link.

Q: Can I set different expiration dates for different people?
A: Yes — you can adjust the expiration period per collaborator to control access individually.

Q: What's the difference between Share Externally and Share with Clients?
A: Share with Clients invites your client into the Levr Client Portal where they can actively collaborate on the application. Share Externally sends a read-only link to anyone outside Levr — no portal access, no account needed, just a secure view of the application.

Q: Where do I find the Share button?
A: Inside any deal, navigate to the Application section and you'll find the Share button there.
