What is a project, and how do businesses, projects and deals fit together?

A project is one funding need for one business. It holds the matchmaking criteria, the lender matches and the deals.

Written by Kaylan Pepin

Levr organizes your work in three layers. A business is your client. A project is one funding need for that business, like $250,000 for a new coffee roaster. A deal is that project sent to one lender. One business can have several projects over time, and one project can have a deal with each lender you try.

Walkthrough

What lives inside a project

  • Overview. The funding goal, the source, and an Ask AI summary of where things stand and what to do next.

  • Criteria. The questions lenders care about, such as amount, use of funds, time in business and revenue. Autofill can pre fill them from the business profile and past applications.

  • Matches. The lenders that fit, with the reasons and trade offs. Matching runs once the required criteria are answered.

  • Deals. One deal per lender you send the project to, each with its own application.

  • Notes. Your internal notes on the project.

Why projects matter

Matchmaking now lives on the project, not on each deal. You answer the criteria once, see every matching lender, and create deals for the ones you want. When the same business needs funding again later, you start a new project and keep the history of the first one.

How to start one

  • Ask the AI workspace to start a deal for a business, or

  • Click Create deal, which begins with the project step, or

  • Click New project on the Projects page.

Common questions

Q: Do I have to create a project before a deal?
A: The create deal flow sets up the project for you as its first step, so you do not need to do it separately.

Q: Can a project have deals with several lenders?
A: Yes. That is the point of a project. Each lender gets its own deal and application, and they all sit under the same project.

Q: Do projects have stages?
A: Yes. Businesses, projects and deals each move through their own pipeline stages.
