Libraro is built around a community of readers and writers who support, inspire, and help each other grow. Below are some simple tips to help you share feedback that is thoughtful, respectful, and constructive.

1. Be Supportive First

Start with something positive. Writers often share early drafts and value encouragement as much as critique.

  • Try highlighting what you liked whether its a sentence, a scene, or a character moment that stood out to you.

Example:

“I really enjoyed the way you described the setting, it helped me picture the scene clearly.”

2. Be Specific When Giving Advice

General comments like “It’s good” or “I didn’t like it” don’t help the writer understand what worked or didn’t.

  • Instead, focus on details such as pacing, tone, structure, or character development.

Example:

“The dialogue felt natural, but I think the pacing could slow down a bit in the middle to let the emotions sink in.”

3. Be Respectful and Kind

Always remember there’s a person behind the manuscript.

  • Keep your feedback polite and focused on the writing, not the writer. Avoid harsh or dismissive language.

Instead of:

“This makes no sense.”

Try:
“I found this part a bit confusing, maybe you could expand on the character’s motivation?”

4. Ask Questions if You’re Unsure

If you’re not sure how to word feedback, ask a question instead. This can open up a helpful dialogue with the author and show genuine engagement.

Example:

“Was the ending meant to be open-ended, or will this story continue in another chapter?”

5. Keep It Relevant

Make sure your comments relate directly to the manuscript and its content. Avoid personal discussions, spoilers, or unrelated topics.

6. Follow Our Community Standards

Every reader and writer on Libraro deserves a welcoming space. Please keep all feedback:

  • Respectful and inclusive

  • Free from personal or offensive remarks

  • Focused on improving or appreciating the work

If you ever see comments that go against our guidelines, you can report them directly through the platform.

7. When in Doubt, Keep It Simple and Kind

If you’re unsure how to give advice, short messages of encouragement are always appreciated, even a quick “I enjoyed reading this!” helps writers feel seen and supported.

Remember:

Feedback on Libraro is about growth, not judgement. Every comment, when shared with care, helps shape a stronger creative community.
