What you Need to Know Before Uploading

Before sharing your writing on Libraro, it’s helpful to have everything ready to make the process smooth and stress free.

A Title for Your Work

  • Every Manuscript needs a title. with a maximum of 100 character limit on titles try to think of something that captures the feel of your writing, it doesn’t have to be final, but it helps readers know what to expect.

A Short Description or Blurb

  • This is a short summary with a maximum of 500 character limit that tells readers what your Manuscript is about. Think of it like the description on the back of a book in a shop.

A Cover Image

  • This is optional but highly recommended, If you have a cover image ready, great. Make sure that your cover image is 360 px by 480 px, using a 3:4 ratio and no bigger than 5MB in a .jpg/ .png file. It gives your work a more polished look on our platform. If not, Libraro may provide a simple placeholder instead.

Story about your story

  • This is your opportunity to tell readers and publishers what inspired your book and why you wrote it. Upload a .pdf file (maximum 5 MB, 1 file, up to 2 pages or 1000 words). This section is optional but can make your work more personal and memorable.

Sample Chapters You’d Like to Showcase

  • While your manuscript doesnt need to be completely finished, its great to have atleast 3 sample chapters compiled into one pdf. file that is no larger than 30MB to best show off your work, this is what will draw readers and possibly publishers alike to your page on our platform.

Your Manuscript

  • Your full manuscript can be uploaded as a .pdf file (maximum 30 MB, 1 file). It does not need to be finished, but the more polished it is, the better your chances of attracting publishers, however this will not be shown or visible on the platform unless you have given your express permission to do so, you as the author and the team here at Libraro are the only ones that can see that your full manuscript. If you’re still writing, you can select the “Still Writing” option.

Your Manuscript Genres

  • You’ll be asked to choose from a selection of genres and get to select upto 5, you will be able to choose from one of three major genres (like fiction, non-fiction, or kids) and then 4 subsequent genres (like mystery, romance, comedy). This helps your work show up in the right places for the right readers.

A Libraro Author Account Subscription

  • In order to share your work as an author on Libraro, you’ll need an active subscription. This helps us keep the platform running smoothly and supports the wider community of writers and readers. If you’re not sure where to buy a subscription, don’t worry you’ll be guided through the options at the end of the manuscript upload process. You’ll see a clear list of subscription plans to choose from before you publish your work.
