The cans we use to store wet pet food are recyclable aluminum and were chosen specifically by how well they seal in and protect nutrients. These cans are lined with a protective coating, which prevents the food from reacting with the metals of the can. A lining should also prevent food from sticking to the sides of the can.

Our cans are lined with BFDGE, not an entirely different compound known as BADGE. BFDGE is more expensive than other linings, including BADGE. So what do these designations mean?

BADGE stands for Bisphenol-A Diglycidyl ether or 2,2-bis(4-hydroxy phenyl) propane bis(2,3-epoxy-propyl) ether.

BFDGE stands for Bisphenol-F DiGlycidyl ether or bis(hydroxyphenyl)methane bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)ethers.

Even though these two substances share some common chemicals, they are not the same.

Rest assured, when it comes to our pet food cans, we're offering dependable, safe containers for an added layer of protection.
