If you regularly order premium canned cat food, you may notice some variations in consistency from batch to batch - this is normal.

Instinctive Choice All Life Stage Cat Food is probably one of our most popular offerings for cats. Sometimes, there are slight variations in consistency or aroma from batch to batch.

These variations are due to the amount of water in a given batch. Water content can alter the consistency of the loaf, perhaps even the aroma of the food as well. These differences in water content are not due to changes in the formula or mistakes made when mixing a particular batch, but rather due to the juiciness of the meat itself.

No doubt, you have noticed this in preparing your own meals. Sometimes meat is more juicy than normal, sometimes it's less.

These variations are common in the preparation of canned foods, and many companies elect to use additional carbohydrates to absorb the additional water. Because pet parents depend on us to provide consistent carbohydrate levels, we do not add unnecessary carbohydrate content to mask these variations.  In addition, while most commercial brands use additives to make each batch look and smell exactly the same part of our commitment to you and your companion animal is to never add unnecessary ingredients for aesthetic reasons.

Should you ever notice such differences due to water content, simply stir the contents to make it more uniform.

Similarly, differences in aroma are also dependent on the fish or chicken used in a given batch. Not every fish or chicken is exactly the same, which results in minor differences.
