Due to FDA regulation, no artificial or added hormones are used in the production of any poultry in the United States. The phrase “Raised without Antibiotics” indicates that a flock was raised without the use of products classified as antibiotics. Animal health products not classified as antibiotics (such as some parasite control agents) may still be used. With oversight by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, all chicken is considered “antibiotic-free” in the sense that no antibiotic residues are present in the meat due to pre-slaughter withdrawal periods and other precautions required by the agency.
As consumers and as pet parents, we are aware of some concerns over the use of antibiotics and hormones in meat production.
