We applaud your vigilance on the issues that could affect your pet’s food. The first thing that’s important for you to know is that our food is safe for consumption. We stand behind the quality and safety of our products, and part of that commitment is monitoring conditions that could affect ingredient quality or supply. This may be drought, competition with exports, or disease, like the recent news of HPAI (avian flu) virus.

It's notable that our foods are cooked and not raw. As the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) states, “Poultry products are only a risk if they come from infected birds and are eaten while raw (unprocessed).”

Just as with food safety measures that we take when cooking at home, it's necessary to take reasonable steps to mitigate the possibility of exposure to pathogens, which includes cooking to at least 165 degrees, according to the CDC. The cooking process for our foods reaches and exceeds this temperature.

We hope this information gives you the confidence of knowing that by continuing to feed Life’s Abundance your pets are in good hands.
